A Whole Llama Fun!

Llamas, cacti, succulents, bright vibrant colors? How could this festive, colorful pool party theme NOT be super fun to do? I absolutely loved decorating for this party theme - and not just because I got to hang out with 2 awesome alpacas all day!

Picking Your Pallet

Pops of color transform any space into a fun, festive environment full of energy!

With this theme, any color goes. I had a specific color pallet (the custom invitation and backdrop provided by my llama loving mama), but I was still able to incorporate any and every color, making it a super easy party theme if you are limited on time or resources to find your supplies and decorations.

I would recommend picking up to 3 main colors to stick to in order to maintain a cohesive trend. For instance, for this party I tried to incorporate the darker teal, burnt orange, and vibrant magenta.

Beyond the Arch

It used to be that balloons were filled will helium and clustered around your party, but not anymore! Even over the last few years, I have loved watching balloons take over the event decorating space, balloon arches becoming one of the most popular formats.

While I love a great balloon arch, another fun creative use of balloons is containing them into defined letters, numbers, or shapes. For this party, I created a giant wood "1" filled with cactus colored balloons by the gift table in the entry display.

Make sure you have a variety of different size balloons so that you can fill in any gaps or blank space between the balloons.

I used a kabob skewer to poke a hole through the backboard so I could pull the knot of the balloon through and keep in place. I like using this method instead of glue or tape, but for the smaller 'fill in the gap' balloons I use Glue Dots to stick them to each other.
